All good but why a website? All people interested in the topic should understand how to connect to a board as a starter and having a
discussion group here focused on sysop experience, support and troubleshooting as local value of a board or FTN is what I'd expect a primer.
And I think there is plenty of that around many FTNs already.
Website just adds a lot of unnecessary decoration.
I run a pretty successful website with wiki and discussion and blog, but the majority of the help/advice happens either in the message bases on
the FTN's or in Matrix. My feeling is that people now want to use BBS as
a way to a) relive a nostalgic past, and/or b) to get away from the web and it's distractions.

Totally!
I can't imagine somebody wants to become a sysop without understanding
the user/consumer perspective in this tech stack. And when you do so and start thinking about owning a board... HTTP is just a fucked up gopher full of exploits, if anything :)
forgive my French :)
The web as we know it today, is not the web many people want to be in or use, and have chosen to find an alternative source of information, social interaction, education and recreation.
