• Monero Now Outmoding BitCoin on Crypto-Markets

I've heard of a change in the crypto-currency markets. Bitcoin is being replaced by Monero on the Darknet markets. This would completely fix the knowledge-hole that comes with using BitCoin. As you probably already know, BitCoin has a ledger, a permanent ledger of all transactions. With Mondero that problem is completely removed. Monero is _THE_ Darknet Market coin, which fixes all the problems found in BitCoin.

Yup and it also is decentralized. So it cannot be controlled by the richest person. After I read all this back when first picking one to mess with. I chose Monero AKA XMR. A simple raspberry pi make me a little coin over the years and some day when/if it explodes I'll sell. If not well a pi sitting there doesn't cost me much.

I'm unclear - how is the BitCoin blockchain a problem? It seems to
provide BitCoin with the ability to be decentralized and mostly
anonymous. Ands how does Monero work without a blockchain?

It's a funny coincidence, I just saw a YouTube vidoe of a guy turning
his Rpi 4 into a Monero rig - he mined $.05 cents worth in 24 hours.

I was wondering about that (lack of blockchain) myself. This
page seems to describe how Monero works:

Is it worth the trouble and cost of energy?

I run my own monero node which has a copy of the blockchain on an encrypted drive. I take weekly backups on to tape in the event my HDD dies. I use it for making small IRL purchases (Just bought some groceries with a gift card I bought with XMR) as well as supporting z-library. I also intend to spin up my own bitcoin node in the coming days, but that blockchain is almost 1TB in size!! bzip should be able to compress it down quite nicely, but even that will fill up most of a tape for me.

If you don't purchase btc from a KYC exchange and keep it out of exchanges that employ KYC, it is more difficult for people to backtrace the BTC to you. If your purchase must remain anonymous, your best bet is to use XMR.

Have any of you heard of 0xMR? it is monero that uses the Etherium blockchain.
