I paid $30 for the little box at a nearby hamfest last spring. I dropped $26 for a new 512GB SSD that really gave it a performance boost. I'm wanting to get 2x16GB RAM for it but need other things first.

I have about 10 of this company's USB 2.0 32GB sticks and they work great. The new SSD is quite fast. Really made a difference in the 7010. Thinking about getting two more of them for the two computers I am building for my parents. Both older Dells but with SSDs, should be good enough for Windo(w)s.

Its okay, but... you're trusting the heart of your network to a consumer-grade router that wasn't designed or endorsed to run it. Its why I never really got behind those OpenWrt and Tomato projects or tech guys wanting to make a router out of a Raspberri Pi. The hardware just isn't certified or cut out for it.

It might run fine for weeks, maybe months before it mysteriously needs reboot. That to me isn't normal. Routers should have years of uptime and not randomly flake out and thats what I found happens with these alternative-router-OS's.

Better to stick with Pfsense on commercial grade server hardware IMO.

There are wireguard and OpenVPN packages I've used, and a Snort package
for it, but I haven't used it before.

USFF. Tiny little box. Great for my tiny apartment.

I have a SFF 3050 with an i5, 32GB of RAM and a NVMe drive. Nice
little box. I ran it on Windows 10 for an hour before loading proxmox

I put a new SSD in the 7010 and it was like a whole different and much faster computer. Can't wait to stuff 32GB in it and see the results. I'm running Devuan Linux 4 (Chimera).
